Your data, your music, your business
What Dad Bee Music collects, why, and what we never do with it, written in plain English.
Effective October 12, 2026
The short version
- No ads, no trackers, no analytics. This site doesn’t follow you around or set tracking cookies.
- We never sell, rent or trade your information. Not to anyone, ever.
- Hive Fire never connects to the internet. No telemetry, no account, no phoning home.
- Your email is only used for what you asked for. A reply, your download, your license. No newsletters.
- Your music stays yours. Files you send for a project are used for that project only, and never used to train AI.
- If we reached out to you first, it was through a business contact you made public, and your details are never shared or sold. One reply and we’ll never contact you again.
How we work together on projects, Hive Fire licensing and our responsibilities are covered in our Terms & Client Agreement.
Who we are
Dad Bee Music is a remote mixing, mastering, production, composition and audio restoration studio run by Justin Williams, and the maker of the Hive Fire plugin. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean Dad Bee Music, and “the site” means dadbeemusic.com.
Questions about your information go straight to Justin at justin@dadbeemusic.com.
What we collect, and why
We only collect what you choose to give us, and only for the reason you gave it.
| When you… | We receive | We use it to |
|---|---|---|
| Send a message through a contact form | Your name, email, company or artist name, the topic you picked and your message | Reply to you about your project, question, bug report or idea |
| Sign up for the Hive Fire beta or the Halloween Special | Your name (or company) and email | Send your download link, one email when the release is out, and your free license key |
| Get or buy a Hive Fire license | Your email, the license key issued to you, and which version or edition it covers | Deliver your license, and re-send or restore it if you ever lose it |
| Hire us for a project | Your audio files, project notes, and the contact and billing details needed to work together | Do the work you hired us for, deliver it, and handle revisions |
Things we don’t collect
- No browsing history, analytics profiles, or advertising IDs.
- No accounts or passwords. Visitors never need to log in.
- No card numbers. When paid licenses go on sale, payments are handled by the payment provider shown at checkout, and we only receive confirmation that you paid.
Like every website, our web host automatically keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. We don’t use them to identify or profile visitors.
If we reached out to you first
We sometimes contact content creators, reviewers and artists directly, for example to offer Hive Fire for review or early access. When we do:
- We only use contact details you’ve made public for business inquiries, such as the business email on your channel, website or press page.
- We keep your name, that contact address, and the channel or site we found it on, only to manage that conversation and, if you accept, to send your download and license.
- Your details are never shared, sold or added to any mailing list without your consent.
- Not interested? Reply “no thanks” (or anything at all) and we’ll stop, and delete your details on request.
Messages through social media
If you contact us through Facebook (facebook.com/dadbeemusic), YouTube, Instagram or another platform, whatever you share with us there is treated exactly like an email: used only to reply and work with you, and never shared without your consent.
Those messages also pass through, and are stored by, the platform itself, under that platform’s own privacy policy and security. We can’t control how a platform handles data on its own systems, so for anything sensitive (contracts, unreleased music, payment details), please email us instead.
Email: only what you asked for
Signing up for the Hive Fire beta or the Halloween Special puts you on a list for that purpose only. You’ll get your download link, one email when the release goes live, and your license key. No newsletters, no promotions, no spam.
If we ever start a newsletter, it will be a separate list you have to join on purpose. Nobody is moved onto it automatically.
Want off a list? Reply to any of our emails or write to justin@dadbeemusic.com and you’ll be removed. Your license keeps working either way.
The Hive Fire plugin
Hive Fire works entirely on your own computer.
- It never connects to the internet. It sends no usage data, crash reports or “analytics” anywhere.
- No account is needed, and licenses are checked offline, on your machine.
- Your settings are saved inside your own DAW projects and presets.
- The beta version stores a small file on your computer to know when the beta period has ended. It contains no personal information and never leaves your computer.
- The Help, About and website links inside the plugin simply open your web browser when you click them.
Your music and project files
When you send us audio for mixing, mastering, restoration or production, it’s treated as confidential.
- Your files are used only to work on your project.
- They are never shared, sold or published without your permission. The one exception: finished work may be streamed (never downloaded) in the portfolio player on this site, as described in our Terms.
- They are never used to train AI models, ours or anyone else’s.
- Unreleased music is never discussed or played for anyone outside the project.
- While a project is active, your files are stored and backed up on our own private local storage, not on public cloud services.
- After a project is finished, the session, settings and snapshots of your final mix or master are kept so it can be recalled later. Your original source files may be cleared, so a future remix or remaster may need them sent again. Ask, and we’ll delete everything sooner.
The full details, including your portfolio rights and file-format guidelines, are in our Terms & Client Agreement.
Cookies
The site doesn’t set tracking, analytics or advertising cookies for visitors.
The only cookies are the ones WordPress uses when the site’s administrator logs in to edit it. Visitors never get them.
Embedded videos: our YouTube videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which doesn’t store cookies until you press play. Once you play a video, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies to that video.
Who helps us run things
We share information only with the few services needed to do what you asked, and only what each one needs:
- Brevo runs our email lists and delivers our emails, including contact-form messages.
- Our web host runs the site and keeps its standard server logs.
- YouTube plays the embedded videos, if you press play.
- A payment provider processes payments once paid licenses go on sale.
Each of these handles data under its own privacy policy and security practices. We don’t sell or share your information with anyone else, and we’ll only disclose it if the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as the conversation or project needs, like any email.
- Beta and Halloween sign-ups: held on the site only until our daily sign-up summary is sent, then deleted from the site. The list itself is kept until licenses are delivered, and as long as needed to support them.
- License records: for as long as your license exists, so we can always re-send or restore it.
- Outreach contacts: only while the conversation is active, or until you say no thanks or ask us to delete them.
- Project files: source files while the project is active; the final session, settings and snapshots afterwards so your mix can be recalled. Deleted sooner on request.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we have about you, and send you a copy.
- Correct anything that’s wrong.
- Delete your information. (We may keep a minimal license record so your license can still be verified, unless you ask us to remove that too.)
- Take you off any list, at any time.
Just email justin@dadbeemusic.com. We’ll reply within 30 days, usually much sooner, and there’s never a charge.
Some of our service providers, such as Brevo, may store data in the United States or the European Union. They are required to protect it to the standards of the laws that apply there.
Keeping it safe
The site runs over HTTPS, our installers are code-signed, project files are kept on private local storage, and access to your information is limited to Justin and the services listed above. We keep what we hold to a minimum. Information we never collect can never leak.
No website, service or computer system can be made completely secure, and we can’t guarantee that criminals will never target the site, our providers or the platforms you contact us through. If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you promptly, explain what happened, and tell you what we’re doing about it. Our responsibilities in that case are explained under Limitation of liability in our Terms.
Children
The site and Hive Fire are made for musicians and audio professionals, and aren’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If what we collect or how we use it ever changes, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects information you’ve already given us, we’ll ask you before applying it.
