Straight answers, before we start
How we work together, what’s yours, what’s ours, and what you can count on. No fine print games.
Effective October 12, 2026
The short version
- Your music is yours. We never claim it, sell it, monetize it or file copyright claims on it.
- Portfolio only. Finished work may be streamed in our on-site portfolio player, never downloadable, never sold.
- Nothing of yours gets posted without your permission. And once you’ve given it, you agree not to take that post down with a copyright claim.
- Send the best files you can. We can only work with the quality you provide.
- Get Hive Fire from us (or a retailer we list). Copies from anywhere else aren’t our responsibility.
- Never spam. Ever. Signing up or buying a license never puts you on a newsletter.
How we handle your information is covered in our Privacy Policy. By hiring us, signing up or downloading Hive Fire, you agree to these terms.
Who we are
Dad Bee Music is a private, independent remote mixing, mastering, production, composition and audio restoration studio run by Justin Williams, and the maker of the Hive Fire plugin. “We” and “us” mean Dad Bee Music; “you” means anyone using the site, working with us, or using Hive Fire.
Your music stays yours
When you send us music to mix, master, restore or produce, you keep every right you had in it. We are hired to work on your material, not to own it.
- We will never claim ownership of, sell, license, distribute or monetize your music or any part of it.
- We will never register your work with content-ID, copyright, publishing or royalty services, or file copyright claims or takedowns against your releases.
- We will never reuse your recordings, stems, samples, lyrics or ideas in other projects, our own or anyone else’s.
- We will never use your material to train AI models or similar systems.
- Unreleased material is confidential. We don’t play it, share it or discuss its details with anyone outside the project.
Credits are up to you. A credit (on Spotify, Apple Music, CD artwork or anywhere else) is appreciated but never required, and has no effect on these terms.
Our portfolio
The one thing we keep is the right to show what we did. When you hire us, you give Dad Bee Music a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide permission to stream the finished work (in full or as an excerpt) in the portfolio player on dadbeemusic.com, in the category it fits, as an example of our work.
- This applies whether or not we’re publicly credited on the release.
- Portfolio tracks are stream-only. They are never offered for download, sale, licensing or anything else, and nobody gets access to your files through them.
- The portfolio is a showcase, not a release. It earns nothing, and it doesn’t affect your ownership or your own release in any way.
- Unreleased songs won’t appear in the portfolio before you release them, unless you say it’s okay.
Anything beyond the on-site portfolio, such as a video, social media post or sharing your work somewhere else, needs your separate, explicit permission first (see the next section).
Content we post with your permission
We’re a private producer. We will never post your music, stems, video or likeness on YouTube, social media or anywhere else without your explicit permission, given in writing (email or message is fine).
When you give that permission:
- You grant us a license to publish that specific content, in the way you agreed to.
- You agree not to file copyright claims, strikes, content-ID matches or takedown requests against content you gave us permission to post. Doing so would be claiming something you approved, and those systems can seriously damage a channel.
- Changed your mind later? Just ask. We’ll take the content down ourselves within a reasonable time, with no claim or dispute needed.
Files and formats
What to send us
For the best result, send WAV or FLAC files at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz, in 16-bit, 24-bit or 32-bit float, exported at the session’s original sample rate, without processing on the master, and with every file starting at the same point.
If the files aren’t ideal
We can only work with what you send. If you provide lossy or low-quality formats (for example MP3, WMA, AAC or files from a video), or files at the wrong rate or with problems baked in, we’ll do our best with them, but the result is limited by that source. If you want higher quality, re-send the files in the formats above. A re-submission may count as a new round of work, as agreed when you hire us.
What you get back
You’ll receive the deliverables we agree on when you hire us, such as the formats, versions (for example clean, instrumental or stems) and number of revisions. Anything outside that agreement can be added by arrangement.
Backups and archiving
- While your project is active, your files are stored and backed up on our own private local storage (not public cloud services).
- After a project is finished, we keep the session, settings, presets and snapshots of your final mix or master. If you come back later for changes, we can recall exactly where we left off.
- Your original source files may be cleared once the project is complete. To remix or remaster the song in the future, you may need to send the source files again. We’ll then load your saved session and adjust from there.
- We recommend you always keep your own copy of your files and your final deliverables. Our archive is a courtesy, not a guaranteed backup service.
Hive Fire: downloads, licenses and the EULA
Hive Fire is licensed, not sold. Its use is governed by the End User License Agreement (EULA) shown and accepted during installation, and that EULA takes priority over this page wherever they cover the same thing.
Only get it from us
Genuine Hive Fire installers are code-signed by Justin Williams and come only from dadbeemusic.com (through your sign-up or license email) or from a retailer we list on our site. If you get Hive Fire anywhere else, such as a file-sharing site, a re-upload, a “cracked” copy, or a store we haven’t listed, it may be modified, unsafe or contain malware. We are not responsible for any damage, data loss, malware or other problems caused by copies that didn’t come from us or an authorized retailer, and those copies aren’t supported.
Beta, Halloween Special and licenses
The beta version is free and stops working at the end of the beta period. Licenses, including the free Halloween Special license, cover what was described when you received them. A license is personal to you and may not be resold or shared, except as the EULA allows.
No spam. Ever.
- Signing up for the beta, claiming the Halloween Special or buying a license does not sign you up for a newsletter or any marketing.
- We only email you about what you asked for: your download, release news for that sign-up, your license, or your project.
- Your information is never shared with or sold to third parties for marketing.
- If we ever offer a newsletter, it will be a separate list that you join yourself, by choice, and can leave at any time with one click.
What we collect, who helps us deliver email, and how to get off any list are explained in our Privacy Policy.
Limitation of liability
We take real, reasonable precautions to keep your files and information safe: secure HTTPS connections, code-signed software, private local storage, and keeping as little data as possible. But no website, platform or computer system can be made completely secure.
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Dad Bee Music is not liable for loss, theft, exposure or misuse of information or files caused by hacking, cyber-attacks, data breaches, malware or other criminal acts by third parties, whether they target our website, our service providers, or the platforms you contact us through (such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram or email providers), as long as we took reasonable precautions.
- We’re not responsible for how third-party platforms and services (social networks, email providers, payment providers, hosting) handle data on their own systems. Their own terms and privacy policies apply there.
- Our services, the site and Hive Fire are provided “as is”. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost data or lost opportunities).
- Our total liability for any claim connected to a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. For free software and free services, it’s limited to the maximum extent the law allows.
If a breach ever affects your information, we’ll tell you promptly and tell you what we’re doing about it. The precautions we take are described in our Privacy Policy. Nothing here limits any rights you have that the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Projects already agreed keep the terms they started with, unless we both agree otherwise. If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
